Summer is for partying, jamming out to music and hanging out with friends at the hottest music festivals of the season. In Netflix’s new original film, “XOXO,” a group of 20-somethings experience an adventure of a lifetime when they go to the biggest EDM celebration in America.
Directed by Christopher Louie and written by Dylan Meyer, the story follows six strangers whose lives collide in one frenetic, dream-chasing night at XOXO. At the center of all this is Ethan, a young aspiring DJ who gets the opportunity to perform at the festival after his tracks go viral. Shocked by this amazing news, he tries to make his way to the stage for a performance that could change his life forever.
The film stars “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland, Graham Phillips, Chris D’Elia, Brett DelBuono, Haley Kiyoko, Colin Woodell, Ryan Hansen, Ian Anthony Dale and Ione Skye. Producers for the film include Max Leitman, Joe Russell, Christopher Louie, Pete Tong, and Dan Shafer. Pete Tong serves as music supervisor.
Real-life EDM artists Galantis and East & Young also recorded the original song “Make Me Feel” for the movie, which is featured on the official 16-track soundtrack that will be available for pre-order on August 5. Other artists included in the album are Skrillex, Diplo and Disclosure.
“XOXO” will launch globally on Netflix on August 26.
