‘American Horror Story’ Creators Say Prepare for a Major Shock in Season 6

The men behind the FX anthology series tease that they have more twists and turns ahead.

The new season of “American Horror Story: Roanoke” was mysterious even before its premiere due to a heavy marketing campaign that showed much, but gave very little. Now, according to an EW exclusive, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk assure us that the new theme isn’t their only secret.

“You’ll see starting in episode 6, the show has a huge turn and the thing that you think you’re watching is not what you’re watching,” said Murphy to EW news.

Murphy and Falchuk both go on to to state that the twists separate the episodes from themselves, redirecting the story with each new surprise. This tactic of redirection began at first with the FX marketing campaign. Fans frantically tried to decipher the images and tie them in to the previous episodes in the anthology, but were met with a rude awakening in August when FX CEO John Landgraf revealed that the teasers were used to purposefully misdirect. Only one of the trailers released was accurate.

Fans will surely try to collect clues and come to their own conclusions about these possible shockers, but until the mysteries are revealed, we can only guess. “My Roanoke Nightmare” airs Wednesdays at 10pm on FX.
