Kelly Reichardt’s “Certain Women” was one of the most acclaimed offerings at Sundance this year, not that that’s anything new for her — the writer/director has rightly been a critical darling throughout her entire career. Ahead of its stops in Toronto and New York, the film has premiered its trailer. Find it below.
“Certain Women” reunites Reichardt with Michelle Williams, who starred in her two best films to date: “Wendy and Lucy” and “Meek’s Cutoff”; rounding out the main trio are Laura Dern and Kristen Stewart. The film takes place in Montana, where three intersecting narratives bring their characters together. Jared Harris, Lily Gladstone and James LeGros all co-star in the drama, which is based on Maile Meloy’s short-story collection “Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It.”
Reichardt’s most recent film is “Night Moves,” which premiered at Venice three years ago. IFC Films will release “Certain Women” in theaters on October 14.
