With less than a week to go before “Luke Cage” arrives to Netflix, the streaming service has released a killer new trailer that shows villain Cornell Stokes, portrayed by Mahershala Ali, proclaiming himself as king.
In the new Marvel series, Stokes will be going to war with Luke Cage (Mike Colter) a superhuman, unkillable fugitive, who is trying to rebuild his life after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin. With Stokes raising terror in Harlem, Cage must come out of the shadows and ultimately face his superhero duties. Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Rosario Dawson also co-star.
“Luke Cage” is the third show in Marvel/Netflix’s series of superheroes, which will lead to the release of “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” and ultimately, “Marvel’s The Defenders.” Fans first met Cage on “Jessica Jones,” the second Marvel series after “Daredevil.”
The first season of “Luke Cage” will premiere globally on September 30 on Netflix. Check out the new trailer below.
