Dystopian fiction imagines worlds where society has devolved from its ideal form into a frightening, undesirable place. Tom Paton’s film “Pandorica” takes this cue and is set in a world plunged in a new dark age where humanity has reverted back to its primal state. A trio of youths — Eiren (Jade Hobday), Ares (Marc Zammit), and Thade (Adam Bond) — have been selected to take part in the leadership trials of The Varosha Tribe, with the winner becoming the tribe’s leader. They must battle dark forces in order for one of them to win, but they soon realize that fighting each other might be the only path to victory. Described as “John Carpenter meets ‘Predator,'” the film also stars Ahmed Hashimi (“47 Ronin”) and Bentley Kalu (“Avengers: Age of Ultron”). Watch an exclusive clip from the film below, which features The Varosha Tribe’s leader explaining the nature of the trails to the three youths.
This is Tom Paton’s debut film. Adam Bond has previously appeared in small roles in “Maleficent,” “Kick-Ass 2,” and the BBC series “Psychoville.” He also appeared as Jesus in the CNN’s docu-series “Finding Jesus: Faith. Fact. Forgery.”
