Let the countdown begin: With just three months until the clock resumes, here’s your first look at “24: Legacy.”
The show, which stars Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”), Miranda Otto (“Homeland”) and Jimmy Smits (“Sons of Anarchy”), premieres after the Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5, 2017. “24: Legacy” chronicles the race to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil – in the original “24’s” same real-time format.
Manny Coto, Evan Katz, Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, Stephen Hopkins (who also directs) and Kiefer Sutherland are executive producers on the show, which comes from 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV.
In “24: Legacy,” Hawkins plays Eric Carter, one of a six-man Army Ranger Squad that killed terrorist Ibrahim Bin-Khalid six months ago. The group changed their names and went into hiding, but jihadists found them all, forcing Eric and his wife Nicole (Anna Diop) to flee.
Otto is Rebecca Ingram, the former national director of the CTU, who retires after Bin-Khalid is taken out. She’s now focused on helping her husband, Sen. John Donovan (Jimmy Smits), run for president. The premiere episode is set in Washington, D.C., and viewers will get their first look at the CTU’s national headquarters.
Here’s a look at the first trailer for “24: Legacy,” which ran before first pitch during Tuesday night’s coverage of the World Series’ Game 1.
