With Election Day three weeks away, Hollywood continues to remind people of the importance of voting and making one’s voice heard. We’ve seen Rose McGowan, Meryl Streep and various other actresses tell Donald Trump that they’re unimpressed with his “locker-room talk” excuse, Joss Whedon did a video with a slew of celebs urging people to vote, and even Robert de Niro stated that he’d like to punch Trump in the face.
Aziz Ansari is now joining that group of celebs with his own video of why he wants you to vote. Shared by the climate change advocacy group NextGen Climate, the “Master of None” creator jokingly says he can’t believe he has to tell people to vote.
“I’m here because apparently there’s someone watching this video that’s on the fence about voting, and they’re going to see me telling them to vote and then they’re going to be like ‘OK, I guess I’ll vote,’” he says. “What the f**k do you need!?”
Asking, how many famous people do you need to convince yourself to vote, he exclaims, “There’s a f**king guy running that says he hates brown people. That’s not enough? He doesn’t believe in climate change! Do you realize how dumb you have to be to not believe in climate change at this point?”
The video is part of NextGen Climate’s #WHYWEVOTE campaign, set to encourage and energize millennials to vote. Per Entertainment Weekly, the ad is set to run in the key battleground states of Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Nevada on digital platforms ahead of Election Day, November 8.
