The trailer for Doug Liman’s new VR series “Invisible” was revealed today at Oculus 3 Connect, a growing conference that brings together the virtual reality (VR) community in San Jose. The episodic series, directed by Liman from a screenplay by Julina Tatlock and Oscar-winning screenwriter Melisa Wallack, hopes to be an ambitious attempt to use virtual reality as a new storytelling format.
The trailer starts with a news broadcast of the death of Dr. Ashland, CEO of Ashland Agriculture. His death sparks the search for his granddaughter, Tatiana Ashland, the heir to his estate and the family’s very longstanding secrets. As she investigates the situation surrounding her grandfather’s death, enigmatic figures behind the scenes conduct human experiments and doggedly do whatever is necessary to uncover the acquire the Ashland abilities for themselves.
“Invisible” was produced by Liman’s production company 30 ninjas, in partnership with Condé Nast Entertainment (CNÉ), Jaunt VR and Samsung. The series will be released soon on Samsung Milk VR platform and then on Jaunt’s VR apps.
