Potterheads everywhere will be flying to theaters this November for the release of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.” But before the spinoff’s debut, “Harry Potter” fans will have another great excuse to dig out their old cloak and wand and head to an IMAX theater.
Starting October 13, Warner Bros. and IMAX are teaming up to screen all eight “Harry Potter” movies for one week. Viewers will also get an exclusive, never-before-seen reel from “Fantastic Beasts,” with locations in London and Los Angeles featuring in-person appearances by the stars of the film.
This grand celebration also marks the first time that the first two “Harry Potter” films, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” will be shown in IMAX theaters.
Four different admission packages are available for purchase: Single Ticket; Day Access (admittance to three or more shows in a single day); Four-Show Access (admittance to four shows any time, any day); and Festival Access (unlimited admittance throughout the event). The “Harry Potter” franchise was launched in 2001 and has grossed over $7.7 billion worldwide. “Fantastic Beasts,” written by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, is based on Harry’s school book written by Newt Scamander. The new film follows Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, as he travels to the U.S. and accidentally lets loose an array of magical beasts that he has to recapture.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” arrives in theaters on November 18.
