Nobody expected much from Chad Stahelski and David Leitch’s 2014 action thriller “John Wick,” but its visceral direction, trademark Keanu Reeves performance, and inventive action sequences turned it into a cult hit. The film earned $86 million worldwide, and now Stahelski and Reeves are ready to turn the property into a full-blown franchise with “John Wick: Chapter Two.” After weeks of teasers, the official trailer is here, and it’s exactly the kind of explosive delight fans have been waiting for.

Reeves returns as legendary hitman John Wick for another round of mayhem. After a former associate comes knocking and asks for help in taking control of an international assassins’ guild, Wick is forced out of retirement and heads to Rome for a bloody battle against some of the world’s deadliest killers. Common, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, and John Leguizamo co-star.
Summit Entertainment will release the sequel in theaters February 20, 2017. The official trailer launched today during the movie’s panel at New York Comic Con.
