With just over two weeks until Election Day, Joss Whedon has released the latest video in his Save the Day series. “The Youth” stars Bill Hader, Nicole Byer (“Loosely Exactly Nicole”) and Tom Lenk (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”). Watch it below.
Byer introduces herself as both a great actress and a millennial, which makes her “lazy and self-involved” — not that it’s stopping her from voting. Hader plays the director of her get-out-the-vote PSA, which panders to “the youth” via lame puns and broad attempts at being inclusive. Hader explains that, though they had young writers on staff, none of them showed up because they didn’t think it was important.
Save the Day has helped register more than 45,000 voters across the country so far. Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, James Franco, Cobie Smulders, Julianne Moore, Keegan Michael-Key, Minka Kelly and Stanley Tucci are among the many actors who have appeared in the first handful of videos.
