The original “Twin Peaks” premiered in 1990 on CBS and primarily followed the investigation headed by Dale Cooper into the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). It quickly garnered a cult following for Lynch’s unique brand of surrealism, its unsettling tone, and campy humor. After a low-rated second season, CBS cancelled the series in 1991. The next year, Lynch directed the film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me,” another  continuation of the series which followed the last seven days of Laura Palmer’s life. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1992 to negative reviews, but critical reception has turned positive in subsequent years.
