Save the Day, the political-action committee launched by Joss Whedon, has released its latest video. Keegan-Michael Peele stars in “Weatherman,” a faux-weather report in which an apocalyptic forecast predicts what might happen should Donald Trump be elected President of the United States next month. Watch it below.
One of the video’s funniest moments comes just as it opens and has nothing to do with the election: “…but, as it turns out, only three of the ferrets were related,” says the reporter who pitches to Key. Among the troubling developments on the forecast: a “heavy wave of denial” coming in both coasts, civil unrest in the South returning to levels unseen since the mid-1960s and smugness descending from Canada. We’re also assured that “the rise in both temperature and existential misery will be cooled by the nuclear winter coming in from the southeast.”
Save the Day says it has already helped register more than 40,000 new voters across the country. When he isn’t engaging in the political process, Whedon is best known for directing the last two “Avengers” movies.
