Last week, Rolling Stone published a feature interview with “Westworld” star Evan Rachel Wood in which the actress talked about her own experiences with sexual assault. She admitted to reporter Alex Morris that she had suffered abuse that was “physical, psychological, sexual,” and Morris included a part of an email the actress sent him where she discussed her past pretty openly.
“Yes. I’ve been raped,” Wood wrote in an e-mail to Morris the day after their interview. “By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar…I don’t believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism.”
Wood posted the full e-mail letter on her Twitter just a couple days ago. You can read the statement in full below. Wood can currently be seen in HBO’s popular new drama “Westworld,” which wraps up its buzzy first season this Sunday. The show has already been renewed for Season 2, although it may not return until 2018.
