Mica Levi isn’t the most prolific of film composers, but both of her outings to date have been remarkable. After making her debut with Jonathan Glazer’s “Under the Skin” (for which she won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association’s Best Music award), Levi (also known by her stage name Micachu) has returned with Pablo Larraín’s “Jackie.” Fox Searchlight has made the entire score free to listen to HERE.
Like the film itself, Levi’s musical accompaniment is haunting and funereal — which is appropriate, as Larraín’s biopic follows a devastated Jaqueline Kennedy (Natalie Portman) in the immediate aftermath of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Taking place over a few days and more focused on grief than politics, “Jackie” opens in limited release on December 2. Here’s the track list for Levi’s score:
