Just in time to kick off the holiday season, the fellows over at Screen Junkies released an Honest Trailer poking fun at the Christmas classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Set to the tune of the popular Rudolph carol, the four-minute video points out the bizarre in the 1964 stop motion animated special, that according to them is “so much weirder” than they remember.

“We thought we’d sing this famous carol if it were honest about what actually happens in the film,” the voiceover says, before singing about how the main reindeers are cruel to Rudolph and he’s sent to exile.

“This prepubescent reindeer, had a neon whistling nose. And when someone else sees it, their tiny little mind explodes,” the song goes. “All of the other reindeers treat him like he’s got the plague. They send him into exile ‘cause this Santa’s full of rage.”

Adding to the carol lyrics, it sings about how one of Santa’s elf slaves leaves his grueling job and, out in the frozen wasteland, he and Rudolph meet a “fool who licks his tools.” All three of them fight a yeti, escape to the island of Misfit Toys, until finally Rudolph saves the day. The clip also includes the moral of the story which is, “being different’s bad unless your defect’s useful.”

Starring Dat Nose Knows Does Doe, Fauxsty the Snowman, Lil’ Ferrell, Yukon the Red Beard Hipster and more, watch the “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” Honest Trailer below.
