With only a month to go before Paramount Pictures releases Martin Scorsese’s “Silence” in select theaters, cinephiles have been left wondering when we would finally be getting a first look at the trailer. Well, the marketing for the 28-years-in-the-making religious epic begins today with the official poster debut. The trailer will premiere in theaters tomorrow attached to “Allied” and will debut online this Saturday.

“Silence” stars Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield as Christian missionaries who go looking for their missing mentor in Japan, in which Christianity is outlawed and their presence forbidden. Liam Neeson co-stars in the drama, which is based on Shusaku Endo’s 1966 acclaimed novel.
While we wait with anticipation for the trailer to debut later this week, check out the poster below. “Silence” opens in select theaters December 23.
