If it’s true that laughter is the best medicine, then millions will be turning to the comfort of their favorite TV shows and movies in the coming days and weeks (and months, and years…). “South Park,” which has gained a reputation for its ultra-topical brand of satire and amazingly quick turnaround times, didn’t disappoint — it will air the post-election episode “Oh, Jeez” tonight. Watch a preview below.
“I don’t know about you guys, but I sure am excited,” offers Randy Marsh from the head of his family’s dinner table in an unconvincing attempt at enthusiasm. “America’s going to be great again. Aren’t you excited, gang?” His daughter responds in the negative, invoking a distinctly millennial rage at the results of the election and what it portends for the next four years. Randy’s response is funny, even if it isn’t likely to inspire many laughs: “We’ve learned that women can be anything. Except for president.”
Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s show, now in its 20th season, has been based around the presidential election all throughout its latest run. “Oh, Jeez” is the seventh episode of the current season.
