Argento’s film will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a 4K re-release in its native Italy between January 30 and February 1. Amazon Studios is behind the remake, which reunites Guadagnino with “A Bigger Splash” castmates Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton; the latter also starred in his “I Am Love.” Chloë Grace Moretz is taking on Harper’s role in this new take, playing a ballerina at an esteemed dance academy in Berlin plagued by a string of murders.
“I can’t wait to see it at the movies again with all the young people who will see it for the first time,” Argento said in a statement. Variety also notes that “Suspiria” is expected to play in the Berlinale Classics section of next year’s Berlin Film Festival, which begins on February 9.
