More than 15 years after it began, the “Fast and Furious” franchise shows no sign of slowing. The trailer for next year’s creatively titled “The Fate of the Furious” was just unveiled in Times Square, and with it our first real glimpse of some of the new faces who will appear in the first installment not to feature original star Paul Walker since 2006’s “Tokyo Drift” shifted the action to Japan. Watch the trailer below.
Among those new cast members are Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Ruby Rose and Kristofer Hivju; all the usual suspects are returning as well: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Lucas Black, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Elsa Pataky and Nathalie Emmanuel. Walker died in November of 2013 after completing most of his scenes for “Furious 7.”
“Straight Outta Compton” director F. Gary Gray is helming “The Fate of the Furious,” which is due in theaters on April 14, 2017.
