The tension is rising in the first official trailer for Season 6 of “Homeland.” In the middle of the “most difficult transfer of power in history” (no, not our own), the upcoming season of the Showtime series picks up several months after the events of Season 5 and focuses on the aftermath of a U.S. presidential election and the transition between election day and the inauguration of the president-elect, portrayed by Elizabeth Marvel.
Carrie (Claire Danes) is now back in Brooklyn and has begun working at a foundation that provides aid to Muslims living in the US. The trailer shows her willingness to do anything to help others, even if it means rattling some cages. The almost three-minute clip also shows Saul (Mandy Patinkin) getting kidnapped again, nuclear weapons talk and most importantly, Quinn’s (Rupert Friend) return.
Viewers last saw brain-damaged Quinn appearing to have died in the final scenes, but right when you think the trailer is over Carrie says, “Quinn?,” and Friend is heard saying, “What happened to me?” off-screen.
“Homeland” returns January 15 at 9 p.m. on Showtime. Check out the trailer below.
