‘The Walking Dead’ Trailer: AMC Promises Fan Favorites Will ‘Rise Up’ in Second Half of Season — Watch

This February, the heroes will soon fight back against Negan and the Saviors.

This season, “The Walking Dead” has garnered notices from audiences and critics for its violence, especially in the season premiere when antagonist Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) brutally murders two fan favorites Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). But while the heroes have been on the sidelines, they’ll soon start fighting back.

On last night’s “The Walking Dead” midseason finale, Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Tara (Alanna Masterson) reunite with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and decide to fight back against the Saviors. But fans of the long running, successful post-apocalyptic series will have to wait until next year to see these characters rise up against Negan and his cronies. Until then, there’s a trailer for the second half of the season below.

Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, “The Walking Dead” first premiered in October, 2010 and has been on the air for seven seasons. Though it was initially developed by Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption”), Scott M. Gimple has served as the series’ showrunner since season four. The series has been nominated for a Golden Globe and has won two Primetime Emmys.

“The Walking Dead” returns this February, only on AMC.
