Principal photography on the thriller ended last month and now the first trailer has been released by Amazon Studios. Starring John Cena and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the film follows two soldiers who get shot by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. The sneak peek shows the two actors getting hit and trying to stay alive, all while taking direction from the enemy.
“Scope is an extension of my eye. Trigger is an extension of my best. The rifle is an extension of me and I strike you down,” says Cena laying wounded on the ground.
The drama is written by first-time screenwriter Dwain Worrell and produced by Amazon Studios, Big Indie Pictures and Picrow. David Bartis also serves as producer with Ray Angelic as executive producer.
Liman is gearing up to direct “Edge of Tomorrow 2,” which according to him will be “a sequel that’s a prequel.” He’s also set to helm the post-apocalyptic YA thriller “Chaos Walking” for Lionsgate and Summit, “Justice League Dark,” “Attica,” “Luna Park” and “American Made” starring Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons and Domhnall Gleeson.
Amazon Studios and Roadside Attractions have partnered to distribute “The Wall,” which will be released on March 10, 2017.
