Turns out, the megachurch's prayer line has a lot in common with improv comedy.

If you thought Gazorpazorp was a crazy name, wait until you hear someone actually speaking in tongues. While guesting on the H3 podcast, “Rick and Morty” creator Justin Roiland decided to call the “prayer line” at Joel Olsteen’s megachurch, and the results are even stranger than you might imagine. Answering in character as Rick (Roiland voices Rick on the show), Roiland becomes quickly confused by the bizarre interaction. The whole thing is so unbelievable, it makes “Rick and Morty” look like a conventional family comedy.

The voice on the other line is a bit garbled, but she speaks enough real words to make out “the blood of Jesus” before she begins speaking in tongues. Roiland is tongue tied at first, but he eventually resorts to spewing his own version of the nonsensical language, something “Rick and Morty” viewers know he can do quite well.

The prank isn’t entirely out of left field: The comedian targeted the televangelist’s Houston-based megachurch following reports that Olsteen closed his church doors to those seeking shelter from the hurricane.

The H3 Podcast is hosted by Ethan and Hila Klein, who run a popular comedy YouTube channel. For a flashback to high school by way of bizarro world, watch the prank call below:
