King Ezekiel has a simple message to AMC: “Pay the woman.” Khary Payton, who stars alongside Lauren Cohan on “The Walking Dead,” has clearly taken a side in the actress’ months-long contract dispute, and he isn’t cozying up to the fat cats.

Cohan has played Maggie on the zombie drama since its second season but has yet to sign a contract to return to the ratings powerhouse for its upcoming ninth go-round; though she isn’t seeking salary parity with the show’s leads, the actress believes she’s been underpaid. She already has a new gig lined up — “Whiskey Cavalier,” an ABC pilot in which she plays a CIA agent — making her future on “The Walking Dead” even more uncertain.

Payton, who will be returning to “The Walking Dead” as it continues to explore life in the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, shared his message of support on Instagram.
