Mark Hamill thinks it’s about time Carrie Fisher gets her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The man behind Luke Skywalker reacted to the recent news that Trump’s star is being petitioned for removal by offering up the suggestion that Trump be kicked off the Walk of Fame and Fisher added in his place. Surprisingly, Fisher never earned a star during her nearly 50 years in Hollywood.

“How about replacing it with someone who really earned it?” Hamill asked to his 2.88 million Twitter followers. “Like Carrie Fisher.”

The West Hollywood City Council met on August 6 and unanimously voted to remove Trump’s star. The group will now send a formal letter to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the Los Angeles City Council, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce urging all bodies to consider removing the star. Unfortunately, Chamber of Commerce CEO and president Leron Gubler responded by saying it’s unlikely Trump gets removed.

“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark,” Gubler said in a statement (via New York Daily News). “Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”

Regardless of whether Trump gets removed or not, Fisher would not be eligible for a star until 2021 at the earliest. The Hollywood Walk of Fame rule for adding stars posthumously is that the deceased must be dead for at least five years (via Yahoo Entertainment). Fisher passed away in December 2016 and posthumously starred in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The actress will appear in the forthcoming “Star Wars: Episode IX” with unused footage shot on “The Force Awakens.”
