Netflix announced the guest list and release date for the upcoming season of conversations, debuting in full next month. The half hour-long show has an eclectic collection of guests ranging from actors (Jane Fonda, Michael Keaton, Chevy Chase, Drew Barrymore, and David Spade) to fellow show hosts (David Letterman and Judge Judy Sheindlin). For good measure, there are also chats with “Saturday Night Live” impresario (and Macdonald’s former boss) Lorne Michaels and country musician Billy Joe Shaver.
But one person that really stands out: Mark your calendars for a lengthy conversation between Norm Macdonald and director M. Night Shyamalan.
Every episode of the Lionsgate-produced show will also feature sidekick Adam Eget, who accompanied Macdonald on his previous talk show venture “Norm Macdonald Live.” Letterman made a guest appearance on that series, months before his own “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” was unveiled back in January. (Letterman was also previously announced as a “location scout” for “Norm Macdonald has a Show.”)
This announcement comes in the wake of Netflix’s decision last week to cancel a pair of existing shows: “The Break with Michelle Wolf” and “The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale.” Both of those series released episodes weekly, a release schedule that “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” will adopt when it premieres on Sunday, Oct. 28.
“Norm Macdonald has a Show” debuts Sept. 14 on Netflix.
