Erin Strecker

Erin Strecker is the Executive Editor, TV, at IndieWire where she oversees all television coverage, including Emmys FYC projects, reviews, interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories. Of particular interest to her is diving deep on massive shows as well spotlighting under-the-radar gems you may have missed. As part of that she’s pioneered new franchises at IndieWire including “My Favorite Moment!”, and “It’s a Hit.”

After graduating from Drake University with a journalism degree, Erin got her start in the industry at Entertainment Weekly, where she covered television, books, theater, and all kinds of weird and goofy pop culture. She was then the Entertainment Editor at Mashable for several years, building out a diverse team that relished obsessing over the minutiae of pop culture. She’s most proud of ideating and executing content packages as all-encompassing as a celebration of the 2000s to regular theme weeks to personality-driven columns highlighting our pop culture obsessions (“Thanks I Love It”).

As a television editor Erin spends an unhealthy amount of time watching screens. Some recent favorites include “Succession” and “The Other Two,” and she’ll forever think “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” is a perfect show. Erin will follow the work of Mindy Kaling to the ends of the earth.

In her free time, you’ll find her listening to Taylor Swift, as well as watching Broadway shows as a proud member of the Outer Critics Circle. Follow her on Twitter here while that is still a thing, and follow her on Instagram here, if you like one-sentence NYC stage show reviews.
