2018 Razzie Awards: ‘The Emoji Movie’ ‘Wins’ Four Prizes, Including Worst Picture
Whether or not you agree that “The Emoji Movie” was the Worst Picture of 2017, it’s easy to single out the Razzies as the worst “awards” show. Routinely picking low-hanging fruit that’s already been panned rather than making even slightly bold choices, the 38-year-old institution “honored” the critically reviled “Emoji Movie” with a total of four prizes.
Also singled out were “The Mummy,” for which Tom Cruise was named Worst Actor, and “Fifty Shades Darker,” which was deemed the Worst Sequel, Rip-Off, or Remake. Darren Aronofsky’s “mother!” received three nominations but managed to avoid the dubious honor of actually winning. Full list of winners below:
