“Carol” led Thursday morning’s Golden Globe nominations with five, including Best Picture (Drama), Best Director for Todd Haynes, and Best Actress (Drama) for co-leads Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. “The Revenant,” “Steve Jobs,” and late-breaking “The Big Short”—showing continued strength after Wednesday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations—were close behind with four apiece.

In the television categories, Netflix led all networks with eight nominations, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor (Drama Series) nominations for international hit “Narcos.” HBO followed with seven, while Netflix’s streaming competitor Amazon notched five, including surprise nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor (Comedy Series) for “Mozart in the Jungle” and its star, Gael Garcia Bernal. FX also landed five nods, all for limited series “American Horror Story: Hotel” and “Fargo.”
