The 2016 Athena Film Festival has announced a partnership with The Black List to present the inaugural Athena Film Festival Black List Mini-Lab. The screenwriters lab, which is offered as part of the 2016 Athena Film Festival, is open to female writers with scripts that focus on women’s leadership.
The Black List is a screenplay database used to connect screenwriters with filmmakers and producers. The Mini-Lab will consist of a peer workshop and one-on-one sessions with professional screenwriters. Previous Black List Mini-Lab mentors include Beau Wilimon, Leslye Headland and Kiwi Smith.
Four screenwriters will be chosen to attend the two-day lab. The Athena Film Festival, which is now in its 6th year, will be held February 18-21 at Barnard College in New York City. Submissions are now open. The deadline for submissions is November 21. For more information, visit the official websites for the Athena Film Festival or The Black List.
