“Duluth Is Horrible“
Tweetable Logline:
Have you ever lost someone and wanted to get away from it all?
Elevator Pitch:
It’s a series of vignettes chronicling a few lonely people in Duluth, MN searching for a connection in a bleak winter. The movie is a dramatic comedy with loosely connected stories about a breakup, a zookeeper on an online date, cat complaints, karaoke, multiple Carmen Mirandas, car rental and a little Disney magic. It’s not actually about Duluth, it is just set here. I will live and shoot in Duluth in February and use a local cast and crew. We need money for travel, cast, crew, food, equipment, insurance, & post production materials. Thank you!
Production Team:
Writer/Director/Editor/Cinematographer: Vincent Gargiulo (the internet viral hits “Taste The Biscuit” & “David’s Pizza Commercial” & the films “Chickens In The Shadows” and “KNFR From 7:00-7:30”)
About the Production:
“While there certainly are comedic elements, the film will also be the most personal & dramatic of my work. Many scenes are autobiographical and the emphasis to do this stemmed from a breakup I had which left me feeling alone, a loser, and unsure about life. My film will be a “meditation on loneliness” and is inspired by the work of Swedish director Roy Andersson.” — Vincent Gargiulo
