Elevator Pitch:
THAT PERSON SAYS, WAIT… IT’S SILENT?
Yes, there is a huge symbiotic connection between image and sound in this film. Everything from inside the womb is heard, creating a cavernous and disorienting environment. Once the baby is born, we experience sound as the baby does: piercing, loud and clear. I want the audience to hear again for the first time.
Production Team:
DIRECTOR/WRITER/ACTRESS- CELIA ROWLSON-HALL
DOP- IAN BLOOM (Milkshake, Sundance 2013)
PRODUCERS- JESSE OZERI AND KRISTIE LUTZ (Act Zero Films)
EDITOR- MIKE MAZZOTTA (Sleepwalker, Sundance 2014)
COMPOSER- BRIAN MCOMBER (A Teacher, Sundance 2013)
ACTRESS- AMY SEIMETZ (Upstream Color, Pit Stop)
About the Production:
“I wanted to write a story about the end of the beginning; about answering the question of why that baby, our hero, ends up on a stranger’s doorstep. I want to tell the mother’s story, and explore how solitude and suffering engender growth.
“I have been working on this script and dance scenes for over two years now and am ready to pour my entire self into this film. In a culture so obsessed with “reality” entertainment, I aim for the opposite- to create a film filled with imagination, dreamscapes, truth, and myth.” — Celia Rowlson-Hall
Current Status:
Pre-production.
