“#whilewewatch”
Tweetable Logline:
#whilewewatch is the voice of the OWS media team as they capture what is essential for your freedom of information and freedom of speech
Elevator Pitch:
#whilewewatch is a vital film for today and tomorrow. It is about a group of young journalists, writers and filmmakers with no money or formal training who face tremendous police and government opposition. Regardless, they told their story to the world. They endured rain, snow, grueling days, and uncomfortable nights – to inspire the world to take action. Part II is about continuing this story to the world as we witness a new dawn with the power of social media, freedom of speech and freedom of information.
Production Team:
Director: Kevin Breslin
Associate Producer: Karen A. Brown
Producer: Michael Vanderfield
Cinematography: Thomas Brookins, Conor Byrne, Luca Fantini, Orlando S. Gondar, Barbara Ross, Luke Rudkowski
Editor: Garrett Sergeant
About the Production:
“This was the first time in a long while that journalism came alive in this country. OWS media was denigrated by mainstream media however, their line “we are the 99%” will go down in perpetuity. I had to make this film because it was live, raw and real. The OWS story and OWS media gave it life. The lesson is to never be afraid to stand up and let yourself be heard. Our goal is to film part II as the OWS media team protests at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and Zuccotti Park for the OWS anniversary.” — Kevin Breslin
Current Status:
In production.
