Here’s a project I’m happy to endorse.

Los Angeles animation collective Screen Novelties is launching a Kickstarter
campaign
for their new short film The Witchdoctor. The project is inspired by all
things Tiki—from traditional Polynesian carvings to day-glow South Seas kitsch.

The studio, founded by Mark Caballero, Seamus Walsh, and Christopher Finnegan, is
known for it’s whimsical take on stop-motion animation. The group has lent its
talents to successful franchises such as Spongebob Squarepants, Adventure Time,
Robot Chicken
, and Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas. They even produced an
outrageous sock puppet segment for the 2013 Academy Awards broadcast.

The project also marks Screen Novelties’ first foray into merchandising. The
showpiece reward available to project backers is a collectible, ceramic tiki mug
featuring the WitchDoctor’s likeness, to be produced in conjunction with noted
artist Tiki Diablo.

The WitchDoctor Kickstarter is scheduled to go live today, Tuesday November 17th and
ends on Friday December 11th. Support it. I am!
