Winners will receive creative consultations with the kind folks at Tribeca Film Institute, a chance to discuss your project and learn more about the grants Tribeca Film Institute offers.

Indiewire’s Project of the Day column puts a spotlight on one in-the-works project each day, Monday through Thursday.  Projects of the Day are exciting new projects, looking for support in building an audience and getting made.  At the end of the week, all four Projects of the Day vie for Project of the Week, the winner of which gets a digital distribution consultation from Indiewire’s parent company, SnagFilms.  At the end of each month, each Project of the Week is eligible for Project of the Month.

Winners of the Project of the Month will have the pleasure of meeting with someone from Tribeca Film Institute’s Scripted Programming department or Documentary Programming department.

The Tribeca Film Institute is one of the industry’s most prestigious and generous funders of film and transmedia projects, with their numerous program that include Tribeca All Access, which supports filmmakers from underrepresented communities; the TFI Documentary Fund, for character-driven documenatries; the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fun, for docs focusing on social justice topics underrepresented in main stream media; the TFI Sloan Filmmaker fund, for films about science and technology; the TFI Latin American Fund and the TFI New Media Fund, which supports non-fiction cross-platform projects.

“We’re really excited to have the support of the Tribeca Film Institute in our Project of the Month program,” said Dana Harris, editor in chief at Indiewire. “Over the last year, it’s been awesome to see the overwhelming response to Project of the Month.  It’s a great way to feature hundreds of independent filmmakers and to get Indiewire readers aware of these films and involved with their success.  We are incredibly lucky to have the fantastic folks at Tribeca Film Institute on board to provide their expertise to our Project of the Month filmmakers.”

About the Tribeca Film Institute:
Tribeca Film Institute® champions storytellers to be catalysts for change in their communities and around the world. Each year, we identify a diverse and exceptional group of filmmakers and media artists and empower them with funding and other resources to fully realize their stories and connect with audiences. Through hands-on training and exposure to socially relevant films, our educational programming helps young people gain the media skills necessary to be productive global citizens and creative individuals. We are a year-round nonprofit arts organization founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in the wake of September 11, 2001.
