On Thursday, July 14, a terrorist attack took place in Nice, France during a Bastille Day firework celebration, leaving 84 dead and 202 injured. A truck, with several occupants, appeared to have accelerated as it crashed into a crowd.

According to the New York Times, the government identified the attacker as a 31-year-old native of Tunisia. It also extended a national state of emergency as it took in the shock of having a third major terrorist attack in 19 months.

“We will not give in to the terrorist threat,” Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Friday morning. “The times have changed, and France is going to have to live with terrorism.”

At this moment no organized group has been named responsible for the attack, but the investigation still continues.
