Fede Alvarez’s “Don’t Breathe,” about three friends who become trapped in a blind veteran’s house after planning to rob him, is one of the year’s most acclaimed horror films, with IndieWire’s own Eric Kohn describing it as a “dazzling example” of the home invasion thriller. After the success of “Don’t Breathe” and his 2013 “Evil Dead” reboot film, Alvarez has become of Hollywood’s most sought-after directors, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s already attached to an upcoming comic book film: An adaptation of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ comic book limited series “Incognito” for Sony Pictures.

The original series follows Zach Overkill, a supervillain who is in Witness Protection after testifying against a powerful hero The Black Death. Though required to take a drug that eliminates his superpowers and work a nondescript mail job, Zach becomes restless and finds a way to regain his powers, forcing him to decide whether to use them again or stay in the safety of his regular job.

The film will be written by Daniel Casey, who reportedly did some script work on Daniel Trachtenberg’s “10 Cloverfield Lane” and wrote the upcoming sci-fi thriller “Kin,” starring James Franco (“Pineapple Express”) and Jack Reynor (“Sing Street”). It will be produced by Chernin Entertainment.
