Fan theories abound among “Game of Thrones” fans, especially those who have read the novels on which HBO’s high-fantasy series is based. Consider, for instance, Lady Stoneheart. The vengeful spirit of Catelyn Stark, she plays a prominent role in George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” books but has yet to make an appearance on “Thrones.” Asked about a related theory — Lord Stoneheart — by the Hollywood Reporter, Richard Madden (AKA Robb Stark) says “I’ve not heard anything” — but that doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t happening.

“I suppose I wouldn’t have the phone call, because they’re very secretive about everything,” Madden explains of the producers’ tight-lipped ways. Robb and Catelyn are the best-known victims of the infamous Red Wedding, and rumors persist that his character might return in spirit form. “I try to avoid it just so I can watch it and enjoy it now,” he says of this sort of speculation. “I kind of forget that I was in it, and just watch it as a TV show now and remember my character as something as separate to me, which is quite odd.”

A number of returns to the show this year prove that anything is possible, and all involved with “Game of Thrones” are known for not revealing everything they know. As of yet, however, it doesn’t appear that we’ll be seeing Madden in Westeros anytime soon: “I haven’t gotten a call,” the former King in the North admits.
