‘Kodachrome’ Trailer: Jason Sudeikis and Ed Harris Hit the Road as Estranged Father and Son in Netflix Dramedy

Like Ed Harris and 35mm, some things never go out of style.
'Kodachrome' Trailer: Jason Sudeikis and Ed Harris Hit the Road

Any road trip would be enhanced by a shaggy-bearded Ed Harris smoking in the back of a convertible, even one with Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen at the wheel. The three charismatic actors class up Netflix’s amiable road trip comedy, “Kodachrome,” which recently released an Americana-tinged first trailer. Donning a straw fedora with arms confidently outstretched, Harris growls in his ever deepening baritone: “Of course I know I’m an asshole.” Fun ensues.

Sudeikis plays a son estranged from his dying father (Harris) in “Kodachrome,” the latest film from Canadian filmmaker Mark Raso (“Copenhagen”). With his father’s nurse (Olsen) in tow, their mission is to deliver four old rolls of Kodachrome film to the last lab in the world that can develop them before it shuts down for good.

In her review of the movie out of its TIFF premiere, IndieWire’s Kate Erbland wrote: “Sudeikis, once again pushing away from his comedic roots into darker spaces…carries the film. At first blush, his fast-talking smooth operator who is forced to find his own humanity seems like a standard Sudeikis role, but ‘Kodachrome’ and Sudeikis reach for more.”

“Kodachrome” hits Netflix on April 20. Check out the trailer below.
