In case you didn’t realize, there’s more to the “A Star Is Born” original soundtrack than just Lady Gaga’s “Shallow,” made instantly famous by the internet following the debut of the movie’s first official trailer. The pop star has debuted another track from the film, a soaring ballad entitled “Is That Alright?” If one thing is now clear it’s that Gaga is probably going to make “A Star Is Born” a threat at both the Oscars and the Grammys next year.
The “A Star Is Born” original soundtrack debuts October 5, the same day Warner Bros. releases the film in theaters nationwide. The album includes 35 tracks, from originals like “Shallow” and “Is That Alright?” to covers of famous songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “La Vie En Rose.” You can check out the full listing for the film’s soundtrack here.
Gaga released “Is That Alright?” with an accompanying teaser featuring new footage from the movie. “A Star Is Born” casts Gaga as a singer who achieves pop stardom at the cost of her relationship to an older country music star, played by Bradley Cooper. The film is widely expected to be an Oscar contender in numerous categories, with IndieWire’s Anne Thompson writing out of TIFF the film is set to break into at least nine categories, including best picture and best director.
