From the Oscar-nominated films “Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom” and “What Happened, Miss Simone?” to the Emmy-nominated series “Chef’s Table,” Netflix is on a roll with its documentary programming. Next up is the docu-series “Fearless,” which follows U.S. and Brazilian professional bull riders as they compete at the highest levels of the sport throughout the States.

“Chef’s Table” showrunner Andrew Fried is also behind the six-part “Fearless.” The serialized docuseries center on top Brazilian riders who face off in Professional Bull Riders (PBR) competitions from the Barretos event in Sao Paulo to the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas.

The series will take a unique look at this unique community, its background and its current culture. But the most unique aspect, however, may be the other half of the riders as, per the official release, “the heart of the series are the 1,500-lb. celebrities, each bull with its own distinctive personality and athleticism.”

WME/IMG now owns PBR, which it acquired in May 2015. The organization, founded 23 years ago, was previously the subject of last year’s “Danger in the Dirt” documentary. CBS has televised various PBR events; according to the bull riding league, its ratings were up 20% this past season.
