PODCAST: Were the Most Anticipated Shows of 2015 the Best Shows of the Year?
At the start of 2015 (or really, the end of 2014), critics and TV connoisseurs everywhere look forward to what’s next. New series are slated well in advance during the golden age of TV, and it helps that January and February always bring on an onslaught of new programming. But while we keep making those lists year after year, rarely do we recap whether all that early attention ended up being worth it. So on this week’s Very Good TV Podcast, Indiewire TV Editor Liz Shannon Miller and TV Critic Ben Travers go back and review last year’s list of shows, judging each on whether they lived up to the hype and if they’re deserving of “Best of 2015” status.

Shows like “Aquarius,” “American Crime,” “The Brink” and “Bloodline” all were met with more mixed reactions than expected, while most agreed “Better Call Saul,” “Ash vs. Evil Dead” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” were almost universally praised.
