A lot of people won’t be at the Academy Awards tonight: Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and so on and so forth. There are so many men in Hollywood who’ve been accused of sexual misconduct over the past several months, in fact, that “Saturday Night Live” took it upon itself to make an entire skit about an awards show just for them: the Grabbies.
With categories like Best Non-Apology, Handsiest Actor, and the Cecil B. Molestin’ Lifetime Achievement Award, the ceremony is preceded by a red carpet initially hosted by Danny Kilmartin (Beck Bennett) and Yolanda Beaks (Cecily Strong) — only Kilmartin is replaced a few minutes in after his own accusations come to light. Alex Moffat plays Handsiest Actor nominee Tom Sturgeson, who says it’s “really upsetting to be here tonight. I gave out a lot of unwanted massages to my female costars. Also, I showed an intern my penis and said, ‘Any ideas?’”
This year’s Grabbies happen to be especially momentous, as Catherine LeBourge (Aidy Bryant) is making history as the first-ever female nominee. “I bit off an intern’s penis,” says LeBourge, who most recently worked on “The Shape of Water” and reveals that “it was actually my job to get the fish horny.” Watch the full proceedings below.
