Variety celebrated International Women’s Day by announcing the honorees for its upcoming Power of Women: New York luncheon, now in its fifth year. “The Handmaid’s Tale” author Margaret Atwood — also a consulting producer on Hulu’s multi-Emmy-winning series — will be celebrated alongside Tina Fey, Emily Blunt (“Mary Poppins Returns”), #MeToo activist Tarana Burke, and “Girl on Fire” singer Alicia Keys. Lifetime will co-present the event April 13, which provides the honorees with a platform to supoort their favorite charities.

Atwood’s cause, the Canadian Women’s Foundation, funds programs in 1,500 communities for women and girls. Fey, whose Broadway musical “Mean Girls” opens this Monday, will discuss Reading Is Fundamental, America’s largest non-profit children’s literacy organization. The Malala Fund, founded by Nobel Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai to send girls to school, will be endorsed by Blunt, while Keys will herald Keep a Child Alive, the foundation she co-founded in 2003 to help families impacted by HIV. Burke will educate the audience about the movement of the moment: she is credited for coining the phrase “Me Too” more than a decade ago.

Each woman will be featured on a Variety cover dated April 10, three days before the event. Opening remarks will be delivered by U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, a vocal critic of President Trump. The luncheon will take place at Cipriani Wall Street.

Last year’s gathering toasted Jessica Chastain, Chelsea Clinton, Gayle King, Blake Lively, Audra McDonald and Shari Redstone.
