After a three year hiatus, the 2022 edition of D23 Expo pulled out all the stops.

Thousands of the world’s biggest Disney fans made the pilgrimage to Anaheim for a sneak preview of the conglomerate’s upcoming projects over the weekend, and Disney didn’t leave them hanging. Though there was an opening ceremony on Thursday night, the action really began on Friday with a long presentation detailing all of Disney’s upcoming animated projects (along with a few live-action remakes of beloved animated films). The slate tried to walk the line between nostalgia and originality, announcing sequels like “Inside Out 2” as well as new projects such as “Wish,” a musical telling the origin story for the star that Disney characters often wish upon. Audience members were also treated to a preview of Pixar’s first longform TV series, a star-studded adaptation of one of its most beloved theme park rides, and a surprise visit from Barry Jenkins.

The action didn’t stop on Saturday, when Lucasfilm, Marvel, and 20th Century Studios took the stage. A teary-eyed Harrison Ford delighted the crowd when he promised that “Indiana Jones 5” will “kick your ass.” Marvel opened their presentation with a musical number. And the cast of “Willow” stoked nostalgia about George Lucas’ often-ignored fantasy classic. All of that was before the 3D glasses came out and the crowd was shown 15 minutes of footage from “Avatar: The Way of Water.” Suffice to say, it was a busy weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center.

If you found yourself struggling to keep track of the influx of film and television projects being announced, you’re certainly not alone. IndieWire rounded up 15 of the most exciting reveals from D23. Some of these were previously announced but released new trailers or key information, while others were revealed for the first time this weekend.
