For many, the Discovery slate of channels are the best in class for comfort viewing, whether you enjoy the high-octane food frenzies over on the Food Network, the messy relationships found on TLC, or the real-life animal content of the Discovery Channel. If that sounds right up your alley, then Discovery+ might be the streamer for you.

The service launched in January 2021 with “50 original titles and over 150 hours of exclusive content,” according to their press release, comprising several segments of the Discovery arm from lifestyle to cooking, true crime, and nature. Those numbers continue to grow, with over 1,000 hours of original content now on the site. These days, the service is not only the definitive place to stream your favorite Discovery shows, it features exclusive spinoffs of many of the top TLC, Food Network, and HGTV series.

In May of 2021 WarnerMedia and Discovery merged to create Warner Bros. Discovery. The $43 billion merger will eventually see Discovery+ and HBOMax, Warner’s existing streaming service, merge into one but that is a few years off. In the meantime, Discovery+ remains its own entity. But, as we saw earlier within the last month, the merger has been nothing short of messy with HBOMax removing several of their original shows off their service. The same goes for Discovery+. Several titles, including shows created in the wake of the launch of Discovery+ (such as “Cakealikes” and “Toddlers & Tiaras: Where Are They Now”) have been removed from the service.

Discovery+ costs $4.99 a month to use, quite a bargain for reality lovers when you consider how much bingeable content is available.

Ahead, we break down the shows you should be taking time to seek out over on Discovery+.
