‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:’ Everything You Need to Know About the MCU’s First Disney+ Show

The next phase of Marvel television will kick off in August 2020 when the show premieres on Disney+.

The Disney+ debut of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is inching closer. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will usher in the next era of Marvel television when the series hits Disney+ in August (although a specific release date is still TBA).

While the series’ release window hasn’t been officially changed, Disney halted production on “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” on March 10 due to concerns about the coronavirus. The show began brief shoots in Prague in early March, but the studio decided to shut down production and recall staff to Atlanta. It is unclear if the disruption will impact the series’ August release window.

While plot details and most specifics are still under wraps, Disney recently teased the show, along with the upcoming “WandaVision” and “Loki,” in a Super Bowl commercial that offered a few glimpses of superpowered action. Only time will tell how the aftereffects of “Avengers: Endgame” impacted Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and the other Avengers, but it’s clear that the duo will have to confront enemies both old and new.
