The Best LGBTQ Series on HBO Max, From ‘Veneno’ to ‘It’s a Sin’

We've come a long way since "Sex and the City," but these shows prove HBO is always a leader in queer entertainment.




The network formerly just known as HBO may have taken a lover’s last name, but the newly dubbed HBO Max still has some of the best TV shows around. Though it can be tricky to find exactly what you’re looking for, some classics remain as reliable as ever. Any queer TV-phile should have a few re-watches of “Six Feet Under” and “Sex and the City” under their belts — such early breakthroughs for celebratory, complex, and pivotal LGBTQ characters must never be forgotten.

But HBO has never forgotten queer audiences, as its more recent offerings prove. Between “Euphoria,” “Veneno” and “It’s a Sin,” HBO has produced some of the best queer TV shows of the last few years. Here’s a list of some of the hits, eminently binge-able and delightfully queer:
