Production has officially started on “It: Chapter Two,” which is set for release from Warner Bros. on September 6, 2019. The sequel to the 2017 horror blockbuster picks up decades later, with the members of the Losers’ Club in their thirties. The reappearance of It forces the group back to their hometown of Derry, Maine to put an end to the terror.
Andy Muschietti is back in the director’s chair for “It: Chapter Two,” and he’s assembled an excellent ensemble cast to play the grown-up versions of Bill, Beverly, Richie, and more. Click through the gallery for the complete visual guide to the “Chapter Two” cast.
The Losers’ Club may have gotten older, but Pennywise the Dancing Clown hasn’t aged a bit. Bill Skarsgård is reprising his role in the sequel. Fans of the actor can see him in another Stephen King project this summer: Hulu’s “Castle Rock.”
Jessica Chastain takes over the role of Beverly Marsh from Sophia Lillis. The adult Beverly is a fashion designer living in Chicago. She’s in an abusive marriage to Tom Rogan. “It: Chapter Two” marks a reunion between Chastain and her “Mama” director Andy Muschietti.
James McAvoy’s adult Bill Denbrough (played by Jaeden Lieberher in the first installment) is a successful horror author living in England. His wife, Audra Phillips, is an actress. “It: Chapter Two” brings McAvoy and Chastain together again after “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.”
Hader is having a moment thanks to his critically-acclaimed HBO series “Barry” and his starring role in “It: Chapter Two.” The comedian takes on the role of adult Richie Tozier (played as a child by “Stranger Things” favorite Finn Wolfhard). We meet Richie in the sequel working as a disc jockey in Los Angeles.
James Ransone takes over the role of Eddie Kaspbrak from Jack Dylan Grazer. Adult Eddie runs a limousine rental company in New York City and is married to a controlling woman not unlike his mother. “It: Chapter Two” marks a return to horror for Ransone after appearing in the “Sinister” franchise.
The cherubic Ben Hanscom grows up into a fit and healthy architect living in Nebraska. Adult Ben is played by Jay Ryan, best known for starring in New Zealand productions like “Top of the Lake” and “Neighbours.” U.S. audiences might recognize Ryan as the co-lead of The CW’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
Isaiah Mustafa takes over the role of Mike Hanlon from Chosen Jacobs. Mike stayed in Derry, Maine and has become the town’s librarian. Mustafa is most famous for appearing in Old Spice commercials, although he did have a role on the fantasy series “Shadowhunters.”
Andy Bean, best known for his series regular role on “Power” and supporting turns in films like “Allegiant” and “Transformers: The Last Knight,” plays the adult Stanley Uris (formerly Wyatt Oleff). Stan lives in Atlanta as a wealthy accountant, and the news of It’s return causes him emotional turmoil.
Henry Bowers, played by Nicholas Hamilton in the first installment, has spent the years in between the original and its sequel in the Juniper Hill Mental Asylum. The character breaks free with help from It. Teach Grant takes over the role after starring in television series like “Altered Carbon,” “Damnation,” and “Van Helsing.”
Xavier Dolan takes a break from directing to star in a crucial supporting role in “It: Chapter Two.” Dolan is playing Adrian Mellon, a gay man living in Derry, Maine who has an unfortunate encounter with It. The director can also be seen in front of the camera in this fall’s “Boy Erased.”
Jess Weixler, who will always have a place in the horror movie hall of fame thanks to her breakout role in “Teeth,” stars as Bill Denbrough’s actress wife, Audra Phillips. Weixler’s recent credits include films “Who We Are Now” and the AMC series “The Son.” Weixler and Jessica Chastain are good friends after attending Juliard together.
Will Beinbrink plays Beverly Marsh’s abusive husband Tom Rogan. Beinbrink’s credits include the USA series “Queen of the South” and films like “I Saw the Light.”
The young cast of the first “It” movie are expected to appear in some capacity in “Chapter Two,” and Jackson Robert Scott is credited as part of the sequel’s cast. Scott played Georgie Denbrough, Bill’s younger brother who is murdered by Pennywise at the start of “It.” Georgie haunted Bill’s memories in “It,” and it’s a safe bet he’ll continue to do so in “Chapter Two.”
